Superb skill! Smooth and beautiful form

Wine glass “Bueno from Sugahara has cute rounded from.
Broad foot supports big bowl. Thin and curvy stem connects the bowl and foot. This stem is shorter than usual glasses so that the glass is stable.

Transparency of wineglass from Sghr under sunlight

Stem of this wine glass is produced with a method called “Hiki Ashi”, which means draw leg from glass. Craftsmen draw glass from the bottom of bowl. Therefore, the joint of bowl and stem become very smooth. Only skilled glass craftsmen can produce the beautiful form of Bueno.

2 types of wine glass “bueno”

Wine glass “Bueno” from Sugahara has 2 types. Plain type has beautiful transparency of glass. “Twisted” glass has shining twisted patterns. We can see delicate gradation of color by Plain glass. “Twisted” glass reflects light beautifully.

Spiral pattern of “Twisted” glass is expressed by a special skill. Craftsmen draw vertical line on scorching glass before putting it into mold and twist the glass within mold. If craftsmen twist too much, intervals between lines become too narrow, and if twist is not enough, the intervals become too broad. It is very difficult to produce a “Twisted” glass. For your long use at ease

All wine glasses bueno from Sghr are handmade by glass craftsmen. Slight difference may occur in capacity or size of each glass. Also, since the glass is made of natural sand, we can see some small air bubbles or lines in glasses. Please enjoy only one feature of handmade glass.

Cautions

Wine glass Bueno of Sugahara is not a heat-resistant glass. However, you can pour hot water in pot (not just boiled, about 80℃~90℃, or 176℉~194℉) into glass in normal room temperature.
Please avoid heating glass over open flame, in oven or microwave. Rapid change of temperature may cause break of glasses. Also, please do not pour cold drink into hot glass or put hot glass on wet place.

Caring tips

・Before use, wash glass with neutral detergent. After use, do same cleaning.
・Please do not use cleanser, sponge with polishing material, or scouring brush. It may cause break or deteriorate the strength.
・When the glass get damage, it becomes easy to break. Please be careful not to hit with other hard tableware or glasses.
・When you wash inside the glass, please do not twist the sponge with some power．It may cause break of glass and injury. We recommend using sponge with handle.
・Please pay attention not to apply power on skinny part such as stem of wine glasses or the joint of them.
