  • Organic cotton is a cotton cultivated under strict standards of agricultural chemicals and chemical fertilizer.
    Usually, a lot of agricultural chemicals and chemical fertilizer are used to exterminate insect pests or prevent fungus. However, excess use of chemicals causes harm of health of farmers and soil contamination.

    The farmland for organic cotton is certificated from a certificated authority as a land that cultivate cotton without using agricultural chemicals or chemical fertilizer for more than 2~3 years. Also, a cotton cannot wear the title of “organic cotton” without filling all strict criteria. A criterion is restraining environmental burden or health harm by using chemicals through all the manufacturing process from spinning, weaving, knitting, dyeing, to sewing. Also, a farmer must obey social rule such as securing workers’ safety.
