Sonobe

Sonobe is a brand of woodwork produced by a studio in Odawara city in Kanagawa prefecture. They propose their concept as “Japanese wood, Japanese handwork.” Sonobe does consistent work, “producing wooden vessels and tools from lumber to finishing.” In 1996, wooden soup bowls “Meibokuwan” won Good Design Award. Since 1999, elementary schools in Odawara uses wooden soup bowls of Sonobe for school lunch. “We aim to produce high-quality crafts for your comfortable use in daily life.
