In the TV show, they reported the present situation of Arita porcelain. Formerly, Arita ware had been popular at high-class Japanese restaurants or Japanese style hotels.

Now, Arita porcelain has been popular as an art work. However, as the lifestyle changes, the sales of Arita table ware decreased at the one-fifth of the sales of its peak.

Then, they introduced a new project to protect Arita porcelain . That was a brand 1616/arita japan. This brand was established as commemoration of 400 years' history of Arita ware.

The program focused on the process to produce "not glossy tableware." Traditionally, Arita porcelain is famous for glossy tableware. The new challenge produced dilemma between the craftsmen and designers, and project leader.
